I was taken by the Treasure coast area of Florida, especially the area around Jupiter Beach. I’ve been in to painting lighthouses a bit lately, but was disappointed that this light house is built out of red brick with no contrasting colors. It is all just red brick!
Then I saw it at sunset!
I must be fascinated by lighthouses. We have pictures of so many from both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, even a couple from the Great Lakes. However this is the first one I have ever needed to paint. I think it was the sky that first caught my interest and that red roof certainly sealed the deal.
